Liverpool suffers major injury setback as an in-form Ibrahima Konate exits the field in severe pain during their victory over Brighton, forced to use his shirt as an improvised sling

Liverpool faces another injury setback as Ibrahima Konate left the field at halftime against Brighton, apparently due to an arm injury.

Konate needed assistance from two of the Reds’ medical team as he left the pitch, visibly in pain and using his shirt as a makeshift sling.

The defender received treatment as players exited for halftime, then slowly stood and made his way down the Anfield tunnel.

He did not return for the second half, with Joe Gomez—who was seen warming up extensively during the break—stepping in as his replacement.

Konate’s match ended prematurely after he slipped and landed awkwardly while attempting to connect with a Liverpool corner. Footage captured him wincing in pain, nearly in tears, as he was guided to the sideline—a significant concern for head coach Arne Slot.

Slot already faces challenges with key players Alisson, Diogo Jota, and Federico Chiesa sidelined until after the upcoming international break.
