Liverpool suffers yet another injury blow as Ibrahima Konate was forced to leave the field at halftime against Brighton, reportedly due to an arm issue.
The defender, visibly in pain, needed support from two medical staff members and used his shirt as an improvised sling while leaving the pitch.
He received treatment as the players headed off for the break, then carefully rose to make his way down the Anfield tunnel.
Konate did not return for the second half, with Joe Gomez—who had been intensively warming up during halftime—taking his place.
Konate’s game was cut short after he slipped and awkwardly landed while attempting to connect with a Liverpool corner. Footage showed him grimacing and seemingly near tears as he was helped off—a serious concern for head coach Arne Slot.
Slot is already dealing with the absence of Alisson, Diogo Jota, and Federico Chiesa, who are all out until after the international break later this month.
