Arne Slot is concerned about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injury after he had to leave the field during the match against Aston Villa and may have to sit out several upcoming games

During Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday night, Trent Alexander-Arnold suffered an injury. The 26-year-old left the game after 25 minutes, feeling discomfort in his right hamstring, and was replaced by Conor Bradley.

Liverpool’s medical team will assess Alexander-Arnold, and he is expected to withdraw from England’s Nations League squad.

According to The Athletic, the Reds’ vice-captain is confident that his absence won’t be long-term. The early substitution is thought to have helped minimize further damage.

After the match, Slot acknowledged it’s unlikely Alexander-Arnold will play for England during the international break, stating, “It’s hard to assess the severity right now, but it’s concerning when a player exits in the first half. He requested the change, not from fatigue but due to discomfort. That’s usually not a good sign, but it’s difficult to diagnose so soon after the game.”

Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures include Southampton on November 24, followed by Real Madrid in the Champions League and Manchester City in the league.

The Premier League leaders will then visit Newcastle United and Everton.
