“OMG” was recorded by Iglesias under the screen name of Candelita in July. It became the New York Mets’ anthem since then and has skyrocketed to No. 1 on the Billboard Latin Digital Song Sales chart.

With the unique feat, Iglesias has followed the likes of Deion Sanders, Bernie Williams, and Bronson Arroyo as some of the major leaguers to have dabbled into the music industry.

Francisco Lindor’s wife Katia voices awareness about racism post-2024 US presidential elections

In an atmosphere as divisive that it has been, the US presidential proved to be one of the most significant ones in the country’s history. The election was won by former president Donald J. Trump after claiming 312 electoral votes against vice-president Kamala Harris, who tallied 226.

Trump became the second president, after Grover Cleveland, to be elected to two non-consecutive terms. Trump’s campaign was modeled around stirring the pot within the minorities and illegal immigrants.

After his win, a series of messages were sent to residents of states like New York and California that contained blatantly racist remarks towards the country’s citizens.

The text messages were shared by Francisco Lindor’s wife Katia through Good Morning America’s screenshots of the racist remarks.

She exclaimed: “Trump’s America. It has begun” on her Instagram story. Due to the severe backlash and uproar it caused, the FBI said that it will thoroughly investigate who spread the hateful and vile messages.
