The Netherlands can secure a spot in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals with a victory over Hungary.

The teams continued to exchange chances, until Malen earned the Netherlands a second penalty in the 12th minute of stoppage time after a foul by Nagy. Gakpo confidently struck the ball into the top corner to extend the lead.

The Netherlands kept up the pressure early in the second half, though Weghorst’s curling shot unfortunately struck the crossbar.

Hungary nearly scored when Szoboszlai’s shot, following a cross from Sallai, went just wide of the post.
