Arda Guler, 19, completed a €20m (£17m) move from Fenerbahce to Madrid in July 2023, with the highly-rated youngster penning a six-year deal at the Bernabeu.

However, just a year after Guler arrived at Madrid, the Turkish international is said to have become frustrated with his lack of playing time under Carlo Ancelotti and there are rumours that he could be on the move again.

Reports in Spain last week said Arsenal were keeping a close eye on the teenager and had even held talks with his camp. The Gunners are keen to sign him in January, on a loan deal similar to Martin Odegaard. If he plays well, Arsenal could negotiate a permanent move.

Real Madrid have an answer for Arsenal over Arda Guler.

But according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal – and any other clubs chasing Guler – will face hurdles if they attempt to negotiate with Real Madrid. Romano shared on his official YouTube channel:

“Two clubs, not from Spain, from other countries, but from Europe, approached Real Madrid to get Arda Guler. I tell you that last year, from January to the summer transfer window, and now in recent months, I think there were more than 15 or 16 clubs who approached Real Madrid to ask for Arda Guler on loan.

Real Madrid always said No, and now, again, two weeks ago, three weeks ago, Real Madrid continued to reject every offer for Arda Guler. They have no interest in loaning him, no interest in selling him, believing that they have signed a great talent in Arda Guler.

So they have no interest in discussing or negotiating about Arda Guler. He will stay at Real Madrid.”
