PSG breaks silence on Salah signing

Mohamed Salah has been outspoken in recent weeks about his ongoing contract negotiations with Liverpool, with his current deal set to expire next summer.

The Egyptian star’s contract extension is currently at an impasse, causing him to attract interest from many big clubs around the world, including Paris Saint-Germain. However, the reigning French champions have recently officially clarified the rumors related to the possibility of recruiting Salah.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi praised the Egyptian striker, while completely denying rumors related to bringing him to Ligue 1.

“That’s not true,” he said . “Salah is a great, great player, but to be honest, we never considered him. We understand that every club wants him, but the rumours about PSG are completely untrue.”

Meanwhile, coach Arne Slot, when asked about Salah’s statement at the press conference, humorously replied: “If you look at my starting lineup, Mo Salah seems to stay more than leave.”

The former Chelsea striker can now start discussing a pre-contract with clubs abroad from January 1 and will certainly not be short of options, especially given his impressive form.

The Saudi Pro League seems the most likely destination, but according to Sky Sports, no club in Saudi Arabia is currently actively trying to sign the 32-year-old.
